NEURODIVERGENCE, NDIS AND EATING CHALLENGES
Many of the families I work with are supporting neurodivergent young people who feel exhausted from masking, misunderstood in social, school or work environments, and overwhelmed by everyday expectations.
I provide neurodivergent-affirming counselling, focusing on understanding each young person’s unique way of experiencing the world, rather than trying to change who they are.
I work with NDIS participants and their families, particularly where anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and eating challenges are present. This includes:
Restrictive or sensory-based eating
ARFID-type presentations
Food-related anxiety and mealtime stress
With a background in clinical nutrition and counselling, I understand how emotional distress, sensory needs, nervous system regulation, and eating behaviours intersect.
Our work will focus on creating safety and supporting small, sustainable changes, rather than pressure or quick fixes.
